About David

David is a Materials Science graduate of Cambridge University, has an outstanding CV, having worked previously as ICI Agricultural Division’s commercial & strategy head, turning around two businesses for a US private equity partnership, and successfully led several other chemical technology-based businesses. As Executive Chairman, David built and led the Cambridge Display Technology team, which spun out of Cambridge University, listed on Nasdaq in 2004 and was then acquired by Sumitomo Chemical in 2007. His other roles include Chairman of Oxford Photovoltaics, President and CEO of Harris Specialty Chemicals for New York private equity interests and a Vice President of Tremco (BF Goodrich). In 2008 David was awarded, together with Sir Richard Friend, the Institute of Physics Gold Medal for “Business and Innovation.”
